NEET 2024 Counselling Process Steps
NEET counselling is a centralized process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the allocation of seats in medical and dental colleges across India. The counselling process is conducted in multiple rounds, and candidates are required to register, fill in their choices, and participate in the seat allotment process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate through the NEET counselling process:
- Registration
The first step is to register on the MCC website (mcc.nic.in) using your NEET roll number and other required details. Pay the registration fee as specified. After successful registration, you will receive a unique ID and password. - Choice Filling and Locking
After registration, you need to fill in your choice of colleges and courses based on your preferences. It is crucial to research the colleges, their infrastructure, faculty, and location before making your choices. Arrange them in order of priority and lock your choices within the specified deadline. - Seat Allotment
The MCC will conduct the seat allotment process based on your rank in NEET and the choices filled by you. The results of the seat allotment will be declared on the MCC website. If you are allotted a seat, you can either accept it, refuse it, or participate in further rounds of counselling for a better seat. - Reporting to Allotted College
If you accept the seat allotment, you need to report to the allotted college within the specified period. Carry all the necessary documents, including your admit card, NEET scorecard, and other relevant certificates. Complete the admission formalities and pay the required fees to secure your seat. - Participating in Subsequent Rounds (if applicable)
If you are not satisfied with the allotted seat or did not participate in the earlier rounds, you have the option to participate in subsequent rounds of counselling. You can modify your choices or apply for an up-gradation to a better college based on the availability of seats. - Document Verification
During the counselling process, your documents will be verified to ensure their authenticity. Carry both original and photocopies of the required documents, such as mark sheets, identity proof, character certificate, etc. Any discrepancy in the documents may lead to cancellation of your allotted seat.
Important Points to Remember
Keep track of the counselling schedule and important dates to avoid missing any deadlines.
Research and explore various colleges and courses before making your choices.
Make sure to have all the required documents ready for verification during the counselling process.
Be cautious while locking your choices, as changes will not be allowed after the designated time.
Use the official MCC website and beware of fraudulent websites or agents claiming to help with getting seat directly.
