Punjab NEET PG Counselling Registration Process
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) will conduct the Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026 for MD, MS, Diploma, DNB, and PGDSM courses in online mode. Candidates who qualify the NEET PG 2026, will be invited to apply through the university’s official website which is www.bfuhs.ac.in. The online application will we done in phases including registering, uploading the required documents, allowing to the process of filling and locking choices and finally the allotment of seats. The process will flow as described below:
Step 1 – Online Registration and Application Form Submission
Candidates who qualify for NEET PG 2026 will be eligible to apply online for admission to postgraduate medical courses in Punjab, including MD, MS, Diploma, DNB, and the six-month Ultrasonography training program. The complete application process will be conducted through the official portal of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
During the registration process, applicants must upload scanned copies of the following documents:
- Passport-size photograph of the candidate (maximum size: 30 KB)
- Scanned signature of the candidate (maximum size: 30 KB)
After successful registration, candidates will receive a unique Registration ID and Password on their registered mobile number and email address. These login credentials will be used for all future counselling activities such as fee payment, choice filling, downloading allotment letters, and checking counselling updates.
Candidates should note that merely filling out the application form and paying the registration fee does not confirm admission. Admission will remain subject to eligibility verification and document validation by the concerned authorities. Candidates should also keep both soft and printed copies of the submitted application form for future reference. Incomplete applications or forms containing incorrect information are liable to be rejected, and the application fee once paid will not be refunded.
Step 2 – Selection of Category in the Application Form
While completing the Punjab NEET PG 2026 application form, candidates must carefully select their applicable category code. If no category is selected, the candidate will automatically be considered under the General or Open category.
Applicants who are eligible under multiple reservation categories may choose more than one category while filling out the form. However, selecting a category does not automatically guarantee reservation benefits. Candidates must produce valid supporting documents and satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed under Punjab Government reservation rules to claim category benefits during counselling and admission.
The selected category will primarily be used for preparation of the merit list and determining counselling eligibility under reserved quotas.

Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026 Choice Filling Process
Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026 choice filling will be conducted online by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Only candidates who successfully complete registration and fee payment will be eligible to participate in counselling.
During the choice filling process, candidates must log in to the counselling portal and select their preferred colleges and specialities in order of priority. Seat allotment will be based on NEET PG 2026 rank, reservation policy, choices filled by the candidate, and seat availability.
Reserved category candidates scoring above the General category cutoff will first be considered under Open Merit seats. If no suitable seat is available, they may then be considered under their reserved category quota.
After allotment, candidates must download the provisional allotment letter and report physically to the allotted college or hospital with original documents for verification. Admission will be confirmed only after successful document verification and eligibility approval.
Candidates who fail to report within the prescribed timeline will lose their allotted seat. Seats surrendered or left vacant will be carried forward to the next counselling round.

Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026 Provisional Allotment of Seat
Punjab NEET PG 2026 seat allotment will be conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences based on NEET PG merit rank, reservation policy, candidate choices, and seat availability.
The allotted seat will remain provisional until document verification is completed at the allotted college or hospital. Candidates must report within the prescribed deadline to confirm admission.
Seat allotment will follow Punjab Government reservation and quota rules, including Management Quota, Minority Quota, and In-Service quota seats where applicable. Reserved category candidates may also be considered under Open Merit based on their NEET PG score.

Candidates satisfied with their Round 1 allotted seat are not required to participate in the 2nd round of counselling. However, candidates who wish to upgrade, change, or shift their allotted seat must submit willingness for Round 2 and fill fresh choices for course, speciality, and college.
Candidates are advised to fill maximum choices according to their preference, even if some colleges are not showing in the vacancy list, as new vacancies may arise due to seat upgradation or category changes during counselling. Seat allotment in Round 2 will be done strictly based on merit, preferences filled by the candidate, and seat availability.
Candidates already allotted seats in Round 1 must also submit willingness if they want to participate in Round 2. Previously paid security deposit and tuition fee will be adjusted accordingly. If the upgraded seat has a higher fee, candidates will only need to pay the remaining difference amount.

Important Instructions for Punjab NEET PG 2026 Round 3 Counselling
Candidates who are satisfied with the seat allotted in Round 1 or Round 2 and have already joined the institute are not required to participate in Round 3 counselling. However, candidates seeking seat upgradation or change of college/speciality must participate in the 3rd round and submit fresh choices along with willingness within the prescribed schedule.
Candidates can fill choices for any college or hospital, even if seats are not currently shown in the vacancy list, as vacancies may arise due to seat upgradation, category conversion, or vacant reserved/NRI quota seats during the counselling process. Seat allotment in Round 3 will be based on NEET PG merit, candidate preferences, and seat availability.
Candidates who have already joined seats in earlier rounds must also submit willingness to participate in Round 3. Previously deposited tuition fees and security deposits will be adjusted, and candidates will only need to pay the remaining amount, if applicable. Candidates who have already deposited more than ₹2,00,000 as security deposit are not required to pay again.

Punjab NEET PG 2026 Fee and Penalty Rules
Candidates participating in Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026 must deposit the required security amount through the online payment gateway of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences as per Punjab Government rules.
Candidates who did not join or participate in Round 1 counselling but completed registration with BFUHS will still be eligible for Round 2 counselling. Candidates who surrender their Round 1 seat within the permitted free exit period and do not participate in further rounds will receive a refund without penalty.
The security deposit will be forfeited if a candidate allotted a seat in Round 2 or later rounds does not join the allotted institute, fails to complete admission formalities, provides incorrect information, or submits invalid documents.
